Wood is a traditional five-year anniversary gift, symbolizing the durability of a relationship. That seems appropriate now, given next month Lenovo and Nutanix will celebrate our fifth consecutive year of working together since the inception of our partnership in November 2015.
We owe that durability and ongoing success of the partnership to our joint customers. To all 2,000+ of our customers, today we say: thank you.
Each year, we’ve added new capabilities to our joint software defined hyperconverged infrastructure solution - the Lenovo ThinkAgile HX powered by Nutanix -- making the portfolio stronger, and thus meeting the needs of more and more customers across the key workloads running in their datacenter. Here are just a few of these inspiring examples:
Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) has been one of the most popular workloads on Lenovo ThinkAgile HX since the beginning. One recent example of how ThinkAgile HX enables fantastic speed and ease of deployment of Citrix, is at US-based regional FNCB Bank. Due to an upgrade of their datacenter to Lenovo powered by Nutanix just months before the pandemic unfolded in the U.S. -- their organization was able to equip employees to work remotely within a few days . FNCB credits this success to its partnership with Lenovo, Nutanix and CDW, where the teams collaborated to rethink and reimplement the bank’s entire infrastructure with future business goals in mind.
Business Critical Applications has been another popular and fast-growing workload including those from SAP, Oracle, and Microsoft as well as custom in-house developed applications. Lenovo ThinkAgile HX was also one of the first hyperconverged systems running Nutanix software to be certified for SAP HANA. The IRSAP Group in Europe moved its mission-critical SAP ERP workloads to the SAP HANA platform running on Lenovo ThinkAgile HX HCI, powered by 2nd Gen Intel® Xeon® Scalable processors and Nutanix software. Working with their trusted partner Estecom - this transition enabled IRSAP to continue to innovate to meet green building standards, as well improve business operations -- slashing the time for materials requirements planning processes by half.
ThinkAgile HX has also proven to be a highly agile, high performing platform for databases including Oracle database and Microsoft SQL Server. Arihant Capital Markets in Asia improved database performance by at least 50% to support peaks in trading volumes throughout the day, and now have 100% increased storage speed and capacity to support 100% growth in the number of concurrent trading connections. Nutanix and Lenovo customers also benefit from the database related operation automation that Nutanix Era delivers on ThinkAgile HX with benefits like one-click provisioning, enhanced copy data management, or even simplified patching of databases like Oracle or SQL Server. The generally available Nutanix Era 2.0 extends this functionality to multiple HX clusters and adds more database engines support including for SAP HANA.
With Nutanix and Lenovo ThinkAgile HX, customers can accelerate their journey to a true hybrid and multi-cloud environment with the flexibility, simplicity, and cost efficiency needed to manage applications and infrastructure in private and multiple public clouds such as AWS, Azure, Service Provider clouds as well as Nutanix Cloud. Nutanix software has enabled customers to enjoy the simplicity and agility of the public cloud with on-premises security and cost controls. Now, customers can have the best of those worlds with Nutanix Clusters, to manage data, applications, and license across private and multiple public clouds, operated as a single cloud.
For more on this and other solutions, we invite you to register to virtually experience one of the ThinkAgile HX product demos at Lenovo’s Tech World ’20 conference. You can also reach out to your Lenovo or Nutanix team to set up your own session on running your applications and workloads on ThinkAgile HX powered by Nutanix.
Our immense gratitude for the 2,000+ customers who have adopted HX, and we look forward to many more in the years to come.
