It has been a pleasure to work with Nutanix, I have never experienced such a smooth migration. I feel confident with the solution, the SLAs, and the service and support have both worked great. The fact that Nutanix is located in Sweden has been an extra plus because we can ask questions and quickly get local help.
Challenge
Skavsta Airport is defined as a critical infrastructure by Swedish authorities and conducts 24/7 operations with strict performance and security requirements for IT operations. Therefore, Skavsta Airport, in relation to the company's size, invests heavily in IT to ensure a safe and stable operation, where the goal is to offer both the airlines and air travelers a safe and pleasant flight. To succeed with this, both hardware and software in Skavsta's IT center are continuously updated.
Solution
When a major hardware update took place at the end of 2021 with Nutanix's hardware partner Fujitsu, Nutanix became the software supplier for the management of the entire datacenter. The main reason for Skavsta Airport to choose Nutanix was that the Nutanix HCI solution is able to manage the specific technical requirements from Skavsta Airport in the most appropriate way.
Customer Outcome
Today, Skavsta Airport has an even more stable IT environment than before, which is easy to deploy, replicate and update with the IT department's existing resources. "It has been a pure pleasure to work with Nutanix, I have never experienced such a smooth migration process. I feel safe with the IT solution, the SLAs, and the service and support have both been great. The fact that Nutanix is located in Sweden has been an extra plus because we can ask questions and quickly get local help," says Adam Eklund Eriksson, IT manager at Skavsta Airport.
Next Steps
Although large parts of the airport's operations are defined by strict regulations, there are parts such as ordinary office IT, that Skavsta Airport wants to move to the cloud. The goal is to migrate to Microsoft Azure and control and monitor office IT using Nutanix HCI software.
"I think it will be quite easy to do with Nutanix. This way we will be able to work more efficiently", says Adam Eklund Eriksson.
