Challenge

Stratu is a private outsourcing partner in Denmark serving primarily mid-sized customers with an aim to get close to the customers with a high degree of service.  The CEO, Jeppe Klestrup previously worked with VMware and had experienced a number of challenges: Increased downtime resulting in unhappy customers, overwhelmed co-workers and worrying business results due to having to compensate for not complying with agreed SLAs.

Energy was put into addressing technical issues and reassuring unhappy customers to stay. “I had a lot of personal frustration in offering our professional services'', says CEO Jeppe Klestrup.

Solution

The management team at Stratu made the decision to switch to an alternative vendor, and they decided to select Nutanix – in 2016 for managing their whole IT-infrastructure. In the greater Copenhagen area, Stratu is currently operating three different data centers, two in Ballerup and one in Tåstrup, where all the Nutanix solutions are operated. Stratu offers mainly two solutions to customers: Stratu Business Cloud and the Nutanix object storage solution which is highly customer specific. On top of that, a lot of customers are application specific. All this is managed by Nutanix For this, Nutanix is very efficient in handling the different types of workloads”, says John Bartram, CFO of Stratu.

Customer Outcome

After the switch to Nutanix, Stratu was able to offer a cost-efficient service using fewer man hours and spending less time and effort on day-to-day operations. “After the change to Nutanix, we experienced 100% uptime and a high degree of cost efficiency. We were also able to service the platform in normal business hours, we have since then not had any complaints from our customers on the core deliverables of our platform”, says Jeppe Klestrup, CEO of Stratu.

Next Steps

The typical Stratu customer is somewhere between private and hybrid cloud, moving towards more of a hybrid cloud solution.

“I am very happy that we chose Nutanix as the orchestration means that the customer can be on any cloud and we can deliver on the customer promise and full service of Stratu”, says CEO Jeppe Klestrup.
