HighRadius Designs Hybrid Multicloud Roadmap with Nutanix

HighRadius accelerates its move to a true hybrid cloud experience with Nutanix, to deliver flexibility, portability and speed of innovation for its customers.

Overview

The cloud is an integral part of HighRadius's growth and product development plan. The company is looking to build a hybrid multicloud architecture. It has partnered with Nutanix to realize its vision of being able to run all its apps and data on any cloud with seamless portability and to accelerate innovation for its customers.

Not only did it improve time to market, but HighRadius also slashed recurring cloud costs by 30%, created efficiencies for database administrators, and saved resources that could be directed to more value-added areas.

Key Benefits

Drives hybrid multicloud strategy
Move closer to hybrid multicloud architecture, avoiding dependency on a single hyperscaler.

Improved TCO
Reduced recurring cloud costs by 30%.

Faster time to market
Improved time to market due to provisioning efficiency.

Simran Singh, VP, Cloud Engineering, HighRadius

With Nutanix NC2 solution, HighRadius can drive a hybrid multicloud strategy, avoiding dependency on any single hyperscaler. Nutanix Files also supports our hybrid cloud strategy by offering unified file storage that can seamlessly integrate with various cloud environments.

NDB allows our database administrators (DBAs) to speed up the UAT cycle as they have improved stability and avoids restarts/failovers of Databases due to health check failures in hyperscaler DB offerings.

Challenge

HighRadius offers cloud-based autonomous software designed to revolutionize the Office of the CFO. Leveraging AI, RPA, NLP, and connected workspaces, HighRadius’ software automates and optimizes Order-to-Cash, Treasury, Record-to-Report, B2B Payments, and Accounts Payable processes. With 2700+ implementations across 1,000 leading companies, including 3M, Unilever, and Hershey's, HighRadius enables finance teams to achieve operational excellence and measurable business outcomes, enhancing productivity and reducing operational costs, all within six months.

HighRadius is committed to delighting its customers by improving performance, agility and accelerating innovation across the enterprise, while cutting back unnecessary spending on public clouds.

Solution

“We migrated our applications onto the Nutanix Cloud Platform and eventually even moved our most critical end-user client environment on Nutanix as well. Today, our critical banking customers are hosted on Nutanix Cloud Platform and is supported by its native DR capabilities, ensuring reliability for the hosted applications,” said Ramkishore Middela, AVP of Cloud Engineering at HighRadius. HighRadius also implemented the Nutanix Files solution extensively for simpler, centralized control of around 250 terabytes (TB) of data across its production environments and 200 TBs in its disaster recovery (DR) infrastructure.

HighRadius is running the Nutanix Database Service (NDB) solution on Nutanix Cloud Clusters (NC2) on Amazon Web Services. “This gives us a highly customizable and scalable solution to suit our business needs, reducing reliance on specific cloud providers for critical services, and resulting in a more agile and cost-effective database infrastructure,” said Goutham Goud Rakala, Senior Database Architect at HighRadius.

“Our applications help to serve global customers in managing their order-to-cash workflows, forecasting cash, financial reporting, process invoices and provide B2B payment gateways. This means they are critical services, and we cannot afford downtime,” he added.

Nutanix Cloud Manager (NCM) Self-Service solution is used to automate database provisioning with NDB and other common lifecycles. It can also help manage applications across different cloud environments from a single control pane. The company is exploring the Nutanix Kubernetes® Platform (NKP) for managing Kubernetes containers across multiple cloud environments.

Customer Outcome

Ensuring Reliable Scalability for On-Premises Customers

“Nutanix HCI solutions helped HighRadius seamlessly meet our customer’s growth requirements. This was a huge challenge with our previous architecture. Now, we’ve not only got a scalable architecture, but also helped our application to be highly reliable,” said Middela.

Flexibility for hybrid cloud advancement

“With Nutanix NC2 solution, HighRadius can drive a hybrid multicloud strategy, avoiding dependency on any single hyperscaler. Nutanix Files also supports our hybrid cloud strategy by offering unified file storage that can seamlessly integrate with various cloud environments,” said Simran Singh, VP of Cloud Engineering at HighRadius.

Instantly reduce recurring cloud costs by 30%

“After migrating a portion of our database workloads onto Nutanix, we saw immediate cost savings of 30% from our recurring cloud spending This gives us the flexibility to reinvest back into the business,” said Singh.

HighRadius met with difficulties in getting full customizations of its database provisioning previously, Singh explained, “there would be some inefficiency, as storage space wasn’t fully utilized for database workloads. But after migration to Nutanix, the team was able to unlock 3X compression, and gain more usable storage capacity.”

“Our team is seeing bigger cost savings because NDB lets administrators create database clones that use minimal storage and consume near-zero bytes,” he said.

Speeding up UAT cycle with Nutanix Database Service

“NDB allows our database administrators (DBAs) to speed up the UAT cycle as they have improved stability and avoids restarts/failovers of Databases due to health check failures in hyperscaler DB offerings, ” said Sreedhar Mandapati, Director of Database Engineering at HighRadius.

Providing full control and visibility over databases

As mentioned, HighRadius previous solution was unable to give its DBAs full control over their databases, so it can be difficult to provide the level of customization required for certain projects, such as letting the Appdev team choose the database version, not having visibility into the underlying operating systems, or generating customized reports. All of this is now possible with NDB.

Developers can get access to all data quickly and consistently to deploy for their service and the administrators will retain visibility of the entire environment. DBAs are able to keep a close check to limit data sprawl easily through the central control panel, NCM, and reduce storage costs by deleting copies that are unused.

Next Steps

"We are delighted to have found a great partner in Nutanix for our journey and will continue to test NKP over the coming months, which will unlock the true potential by allowing portability across cloud providers,” said Singh. We have seen good results so far and are optimistic that this will help us gain more agility to deliver better services to our customers,” he added.
