Nutanix Cloud Manager (NCM) is a hybrid multi-cloud management platform that offers Intelligent Operations, Self-Service, Cost Governance, and Security, natively with the Nutanix Platform and also through a SaaS subscription. Key features include:

Self-service VMs and apps defined via simple blueprints, easily created and managed through GUI/CLI.
IT lifecycle management, providing visibility, optimization, and financial control over multi-cloud deployments.
Near real-time detection, monitoring, and remediation of security vulnerabilities and compliance issues across multiple cloud environments.

Nutanix Cloud Manager – Edge (NCM-Edge) provides the same capabilities as NCM, enabling intelligent operations, self-service, cost governance, and security for small edge and End-User-Computing (EUC) deployments. NCM-Edge is limited to a maximum of 25 VMs in a cluster, with each VM being limited to a maximum of 96GB of memory. NCM-Edge provides centralized visibility and control to seamlessly manage and connect infrastructure across edge locations, data centers, and public clouds through a single pane of glass, enabling consistent operations and governance.

Pricing, Deployment, and Licensing Terms

Pricing

The NCM-Edge SKUs are for deployment on the Edge or for End-User-Computing (EUC) and are priced on a per VM basis as measured by the maximum number of concurrently powered-on VMs.

Per User (only to be used with EUC licenses): This is based on concurrent VDI users. Pricing is no longer basing NCM on the COREs of the VDI nodes but now on the concurrent users.
Per VM (only to be used with NCI-Edge licenses): As measured by the maximum number of concurrently powered-on VMs.

Constraints and Capabilities

Just like NCI-Edge, NCM-Edge/EUC SKU’s are restricted to small clusters running up to 25 concurrently powered-on VMs, with each VM limited to 96GB memory allocation.
NCM-Edge should be used with NCI-Edge SKUs only and the NCM-Edge quantity should be the same as NCI-Edge quantity.
NCM-Edge has the same features and functions as the Core Data center version, only the meter is different.

Licensing Terms

All SKUs deliver term licenses, and are configurable for any duration between 6-60 months. Licenses must be renewed for continued access to software and support.
Nutanix system VMs (CVMs, PCVMs, FSVMs) do not require NCI-Edge licenses. However, non-Nutanix system VMs (e.g., vSphere vCLS) must be licensed.
The Nutanix End-User Licensing Agreement is applicable for all NCI-Edge software.

Related Offerings

NCI-Edge is a product that provides the same capabilities as NCI but extends the Nutanix Platform to edge use cases. NCI-Edge is also limited to a maximum of 25 VMs in a cluster.
